世界で展開が予定される本研究において7月29日現在では、オーストラリアのMurdoch Children’s Research Instituteでのみ募集中のステータスとされます。

 

It has been disclosed on ClinicalTrials.gov that QED will begin a natural history study for children with Achondroplasia aged 30 months to 10 years old as overseas bioventures are in the process of developing treatments for children with achondroplasia.

As of July 29, this status of recruiting is only for at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Australia.

概要:

2歳半から10歳の軟骨無形成症(以下、ACH)の小児を対象とする長期的な複数施設による観測研究です。目的は、被験者の成長やACH関連の合併症および治療を評価することです。研究薬は投与されません。

小児軟骨無形成患者

包含基準:

  • 被験者または両親もしくは法的に認可された代表者(LAR)によるインフォームド・コンセントに署名すること
  • 登録時に2.5~10歳であること
  • ACHの診断書
  • 歩行と援助なしで立つことができること
  • 被験者または両親またはLARは、研究訪問および学習手順に従い積極的に対応できること

除外基準:

  • 軟骨低形成症またはACH以外の低身長症 (例:トリソミー21、偽軟骨無形成症、心理社会的な範疇の低身長)
  • 女性の場合、初経を迎えた場合
  • ±2cmの標準偏差は、小児ACH患者の成長に関する参照表に基づく
  • スクリーニング前の6ヶ月間の成長速度が≤1.5 cm/年の場合
  • 研究者およびスポンサーの所見によりら、成長に影響を与える可能性がある、または治療が成長に影響を与える可能性がある疾患などがある場合
  • 検査スクリーニングに重大な異常がある場合
  • 成長ホルモン、インスリン様成長因子1(IGF 1)、または過去6ヶ月または長期治療(>3ヶ月)で常時蛋白同化ステロイドで治療されている場合
  • 常時、線維芽細胞増殖因子受容体(FGFR)阻害を標的とするC型ナトリウム利尿ペプチド(CNP)アナログまたは治療を受けている場合
  • コルチコステロイドで定期的な•経口長期治療(>1ヶ月)をしている場合(喘息のための低用量進行中の吸入ステロイドは許容される)
  • ACHまたは低身長の治療に他の調査製品または調査医療機器を使用したことがある場合
  • 手足延長手術歴がある場合

Prospective Clinical Assessment Study in Children With Achondroplasia (ACH)  

 

Brief Summary:

This is a long-term, multi-center, observational study in children 2.5 to 10 years with achondroplasia (ACH). The objective is to evaluate growth, ACH-related medical complications and treatments of study participants. No study medication will be administered.

Study Population

Children with achondroplasia

Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Signed informed consent by study participant or parent(s) or legally authorized representative (LAR) and signed informed assent by the study participant (when applicable)
  • Aged 2.5 to 10 years (inclusive) at study entry
  • Diagnosis of ACH
  • Ambulatory and able to stand without assistance
  • Study participants and parent(s) or LAR(s) are willing and able to comply with study visits and study procedures

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Have hypochondroplasia or short stature condition other than ACH (e.g trisomy 21, pseudoachondroplasia, psychosocial short stature)
  • In females, having had their menarche
  • Height < −2 or > +2 standard deviations for age and sex based on reference tables on growth in children with ACH
  • Annualized height growth velocity ≤1.5 cm/year over a period ≥6 months prior to screening
  • Have a concurrent disease or condition that in the view of the Investigator and/or Sponsor, may impact growth or where the treatment is known to impact growth.
  • Significant abnormality in screening laboratory results.
  • Have been treated with growth hormone, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF 1), or anabolic steroids in the previous 6 months or long-term treatment (>3 months) at any time
  • Have received a C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) analog or treatment targeting fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibition at any time
  • Have had regular long-term treatment (>1 month) with oral corticosteroids (low-dose ongoing inhaled steroid for asthma is acceptable)
  • Have used any other investigational product or investigational medical device for the treatment of ACH or short stature
  • Have had previous limb-lengthening surgery
